A Nice Blue Ribbon

Posted by admin On August - 18 - 2009

I am now on one of my rarest moments since last month... lounging around, watching TV, surfing the internet while watching Alyssa take that 1:00 midafternoon nap. S anyways, I am again getting to my Multiply invitations and Replies, meebo messages, emails and ym instant messages when I got to a message left by http://imutna.multiply.com/ on a theme I made for Elaine (see below). Thanks so much IMUTNA, thanks for the appreciation...

Christinas Court

Posted by admin On August - 17 - 2009

The highlight of today's episode of Christina's Court is the Plaintiff''s name which I find it very interesting: SCHAUNDERION. It is not your typical everyday name... and I think it is very unique and so as the lady herself. Very exotic... and she is very soft spoken too. Anyways, the story goes: She met this Medical Practitioner (the Defendant) on a New York Subway and they started to chat. They are both 37, neither of them are married nor in a relationship. So they started going out until one day the guy had problems with money and Schaunderion offered to lend him $100.00 (that's all it takes to take somebody to a Small Claims Court, or even lesser in some cases). After taking the money, the guy started to make alibis whenever the lady ask him to go out. So then she figured out he was hiding from her. She called the operator of the subway and asked her about the stops they are making on that certain area of New York (I forgot the name) and searched for the guy's house.

Anyways, the guy's defense was that the money was given as a gift and he feels that he should not be obligated to pay for it. At the end, Judge Christina ruled in favor of Schaunderion as she was able to prove that the money was a loan and not a gift. I would have made the same judgment too if I am the judge. Not to sympathize with the lady but I learned everyday as I watch these people's courts on TV that every time you enter to an agreement, it should be in writing. Nowadays, you can sue anybody for anything. Have you heard that news about this Judge suing a Chinese Cleaner for losing his pants? He sued them for 54 Million Dollars! Very outrageous!

But if ever I continued with Law School, I know I would not make a good lawyer. See, I am very emotional. I cry watching House and still laugh on the reruns of I Love Lucy. I am bias when it comes to making decisions. I also side with one who makes the saddest story. I should have known I am a better Psychologist (hahahha!) as I have this immense longing psychoanalyzing people. Huh? Psychoanalyzing, is that even a word?

In Hiatus

Posted by admin On August - 16 - 2009

Currently, I am on hiatus from making themes. Since I started doing personalized layouts, I receive a lot of requests and get three or more invitations in one day. Yesterday alone, I had 68 invitations and as I went through each of them I got it down to 27 and not that I do not want to accept these invitations but as Multiply says: The goal is not to have the biggest network. So what I do, I accept the one's that I have common interests with, share same ideas or those one's that invite me with the right relationship. I get requests inviting me as their cousin... hmmm and some inviting me to be their sister. Unfortunately, these ones I have to decline...

For Photoshop tutorials, techniques and other Multiply questions, I can't possibly answer them all. Not that I want to share ideas but if I start on one question, then I know I am expceted to go on and on. I apologize but I do not have the liesure of time to write down all the answers you want to know. Please understand that I started from scratch and I learned as I go went through each theme. I had been doing HTML and Photoshop for over five years now and yet I still spend sleepless nights wanting to learn more. It is then impossible for me to go back from step one to accommodate some basic questions on how to do stuff.

In this tone, I will be ending this journal with an apologetic gesture that I am here not as a mentor but just like everybody else, a Multiply regular user. I hope you guys understand...

Anniversary Lunch

Posted by admin On August - 11 - 2009

Last night, after a photo shoot done with Jessica at the Pala Casino and Resort, Rolly decided we'll have an early anniversary dinner at The Oakroom. I had a slice of pork chops and rolly had prime rib. It was a long night specially that Rolly can't resist playing cards. So Alyssa and I waited at the hotel lounge, had some Napoleon slice and coffee while and enjoyed the piano play and the fountain show. We went home at about 11:30 in the evening, it was one good night.

This morning we woke up a little early and drove from OC to San Jacinto. The drive took us two hours so we fixed our Anniversary lunch as soon as we got there. Rolly grilled the rib eye and I cooked the red snapper. We also opened the redwine Saed (Rolly's coworker) bought on his trip to Italy last week.  Tonight, I have another appointment at Hemet so I thought of posting some pics right now...

Red Snapper, Prime Rib, Crab, Corn, Coke
and Red Wine for Anniversary Lunch at the patio.

Almost Goodbye

Posted by admin On August - 11 - 2009

There are still a lot of honest people left on the world nowadays... and I am thankful for that. Why am I saying that? This weekend, we spent both Saturdays and Sundays gallivanting. And when I say gallivanting, I meant to say roaming and traveling. As usual, we went wine tasting at Leonesse. I love the drive... the feeling of getting away from the city. Passing haciendas and really huge custom homes, rolling terrain of vineyards and as Michelle said, the sound of crickets at night!

The wines were really good. And it gives you the buzz without getting you drunk. We then stopped by Pechanga for dinner at the Blazing Noodles, our favorite stop for Asian food. So anyways, this is where my "almost-a-nightmare-thing" happened. I rolled down my window when we entered the garage. It was hot and Rolly turned off the car's AC already. We unloaded Alyssa's stroller and bags and we took off. When we came back after three hours (of course, they have to play first at the casino), Michelle was like: "Oh, the window is wide open." Almost immediately, I opened the trunk of the SUV. I was thinking about lots of things. Two DSLR Cameras. Video. Two laptops. Phone. My bag. Credit cards. But, it was big relief to see them lying there... like they were when we left hours ago.

People could have just ransacked the car when given the chance. If that happened, it will be my worst nightmare. It was almost goodbye... but as I've said Thanks God tehre are still some honest people left in the world.

America’s Next Top Model

Posted by admin On August - 9 - 2009

Michelle, one of my favorites on America's Next Top Model was eliminated.Among the five contestants this week, she actually has the strongest portfolio: http://www.cwtv.com but tonight, she admitted that she does not really have the passion for Fashion. But I honestly think that Nigel was right when he said that maybe for now, she doesn't but when she is there really doing the real stuff she might wake up to the fact that this is what she wants to do. I agree, the girl's got talent and she doesn't have to try that much.

Then again, it's not just about that pretty face.

Almost 3

Posted by admin On August - 5 - 2009

At almost 3, our dear daughter Alyssa is slowly perfecting two languages and two dialects. She uses them interchangeably and still can convey what she wants effectively. She is now tries to reason out, explains things and insists on what knows. She is growing up so fast that her aunt told her the other day: "Don't hurry up! Enjoy being a baby." The only problem that I see is her relationship with kids her own age. She seems to withdraw and prefers to mingle with adults. I guess it's because she doesn't get to play with other children. And the fact that we baby her a lot makes her think that everything is just about her. But we can't help it...

By the end of this year or maybe next year, we will be placing her day care. Right now, we are looking at those places that has class curriculum. It might be expensive but I truly think it is the best for her rather than just leaving her on a regular babysitter. On her days off, I hope my mom will be here already to take a look after her while both Rolly and I go to work...

Codes

I am always nice. My husband always tells me I am not capable of asserting my rights because I say yes to everything even if I really meant No. I always speak in soft voice and seldom will you hear my voice rise. But today, I felt the sudden rush of fury all over me and I found myself very irate. This is all because someone took this site's layout without my permission, altered the banner and took off the bottom credit replacing it with her Multiply Address.

What actually bothered me is that I posted a lot of themes that users can take. And I actually do not have any rules at all. In fact, I encourage you guys to play with them. Tweak them. Edit them. I received maybe two or three requests asking for this specific layout that I am using but I regret to say that I cannot give it away.

I tried to make personalized layout for anybody who ask for it but the requests come pouring in and I thought it will be just easier to post something that all you guys have to do is fill in your photo. And I love it that a some people actually used them. I mean, I do not ask for anything in return. NOT until now. On my HOME page, I specified two rules. I actually do not care about the first one but most important is the latter. TO PLEASE NOT TAKE WHAT IS NOT GIVEN.

Well, now she took it off. That is after some really serious personal messages for her. And some of them, I admit, are bad words. And I apologize for that. But anyways, my themes are still for everybody. As I have said, take it. Use them. You don't have to ask permission, you don't have to leave a comment.
