Blogging From the Road

The 4 hour trip from Las Vegas to
California is now taking us forever to travel. We left the strip about five in the afternoon, it is already 9 in the evening and we haven’t reached Barstow yet. Californians just decided to leave in the afternoon to beat the traffic thinking people left early for the day. To our dismay, it is the opposite. Gosh, this is the heaviest traffic I’ve ever seen. It is a parking lot… And people are getting desperate because we passed by two accidents already.

Alyssa is getting way too chatty now. Rolly likes it because she helps him stay awake. Even she cracks me up… I can’t believe she is a little girl now, with so many things running on her mind. She’s grown so much and she amazes us with her inquisitive remarks and curious thoughts. Sometimes I ran out of words to tell her and so I would just laugh.

Ok, now we just passed Barstow and Alyssa is now sleeping tight. We are listening to Mandy Moore. I prefer independent music most often however, I find Mandy Moore’s songs very pleasant to hear. Rolly doesn’t mind it too. He listens to everything so it is all good.

The 15 is just so packed… Cars running 20 mph populate this freeway as far as the eye can see. Rear lights that are unending… We are thinking: Is this madness stretching all the way to Corona? It is just horrible! But since I am always indifferent, I actually like it. I’ve always loved being in the road…

iMagination Photos

For the long weekend, we headed out to Vegas. We went to see some house at the Henderson area – about 20 minutes away from the strip. I like the ones in Inspirada Hills. I am still trying to convince Rolly it is worth the relocation. We really need to settle down on a place that we like better and deem best for Alyssa. For me, it is an easy choice. If I can move right now, I will. I don’t really like this house we have here in Corona. There – I said it. I love the community but it is not enough to make me stay.

After looking at the houses, we went to the M (iMagination) for a lunch buffet. They really have good food and wines and beers. Of course, I am staying away from beer but I had some sip of their dessert wines. I was tipsy afterwards. Good thing I don’t have to drive. I also took some pictures and here they are:

Photo selection of Alyssa. I think they are so cute that I had to create a separate gallery for it. Most of them are taken at the M when she was dancing at the lobby.

Away. So Very Far Away.

Posted by Simply, Rosalyn On October - 12 - 2009

We are so fond of Vegas that we come here ever too often. We actually would like to get a home here in the next year if God permits. I love the fun and endless sleep… and yes, I am now becoming upfront about not liking it much in California. California is California, there is no place as beautiful as it is. I just don’t like Alyssa growing up to a place where she people think she cannot do anything right. C’mon, she is just a kid. Give her a break. Whenever it’s just the three of us, Alyssa behaves a hundred times better. I guess that’s one reason why I get so frustrated because “the others” would actually find satisfaction when they see her throwing tantrums. And when Alyssa is on her quiet moods, they would say smart-mouth comments like: “Bakit ang bait mo ngayon ha?” Excuse me.

These are factors driving me away every single day. I feel like nobody deserves to be pushed around and be under someone so domineering and manipulative. I wouldn’t… and I don’t want Alyssa to be around other people who are just so inconsiderate. Those ones who talk without even thinking what the others might feel. Or those ones who says all flowery things when around you, and stabs you in the back when you aren’t looking. Very irritating. I don’t need them to make me feel down… I haven’t been inferior and if their goal is to make me one, I am sorry to say but I don’t welcome the thought – not even a fragment of it.

Oh, the negativity. It is very alienating. Even if I try not to think about it, it sure can creep and finds its way to my mind.

Out of Towners

Posted by Simply, Rosalyn On October - 2 - 2009

Well, it took me a long to post some new pics just because i got so busy. Little Lissie had her dental appointment last Monday and I was so disappointed we didn’t accomplish anything again. It’s all messed up. We were scheduled to see the specialist at around 1:30 but we were there for two hours when we finally get to see him. All he did was visually took a look at Alyssa’s teeth and said for us to come back next month. I was pissed! I was expecting for them to at least do the x-ray before telling us to do this or do that. Very disappointing… I am thinking of just taking her back home to the Philippines in December and have everything done their.

Anyways, we went on another out of town trip two weeks ago and here are the photos… Alyssa had a lot of fun! It was such a great weekend…

Snapshots from Our Mini Vacation

Posted by Simply, Rosalyn On September - 26 - 2009

Ok… it’s been a long while. A week, I think. I know I am supposed to upload Alyssa’s snapshots but I got so busy. But it is finally here and there are hundreds of it but I just selected few photos to share… Most of these photos were taken after she had her tooth chipped after bumping into the hotel table. I was frustrated. I still am… We went to the dentist and I was so dismayed with their service and so as Rolly so he said he will call other dental office tomorrow.
