Now on this picture, you can really tell she too is an island girl. I remember when I was working, some of co-workers call me Island Girl. Most think I am from Hawaii. Yes, I am tanned and I so love it! Alyssa is kind of tanned too but a little on the lighter side. In the Philippines, FAIR SKIN is beautiful. When I migrated to the US, that was when I really learned to be so comfortable on my own skin. People spend way so much money just to get the perfect tan... and I do not have the problem blending in!

My Father-in-Law and his wife are coming for a vacation on the 27th. In a way, I am actually looking forward to having someone look after Alyssa so I can start on a serious job hunting. We still have to wait couple of weeks but I guess it is all worth it. For now, I am staying put and enjoying every moment with the little Princess. It can get a little hard somedays but most often, I can handle it gracefully and at the end of the day I feel satisfaction with whatever I did.

Alyssa was very pleased when I told her we're taking a walk around the block while Daddy will ride his motorcycle. She took her hat (actually, her Dad's hat) and took her doll stroller with us. Ate Lynne has a new hairdo today. It looks great on her BUT it is really blonde! So Alyssa was really surprised when she saw her this afternoon. She started giggling! She said: "What happened to your hair Ninang?" Ate Lynne replied: "I had it colored. Do you like it?" Alyssa was pretty fast on her reply. "No, it is ugly!"

She say's ugly to everything... And no, she's not confused. She is just on the stage where she get creative with the use of vocabulary. She is now starting to call us names... or call her self names. Even if it's funny, I really think it is amazing. The human mind is a complex thing and it's development is beyond explanation. Children are the best manifestation of such mystery.

I was unable to take some pictures today. But tomorrow is July 4 and we planned on watching the fireworks at the park. Maybe. I am not really sure... But for sure, we will be doing something else.

Our Alyssa is now almost three. She is a little bit tall for her age so a lot of people think she is running four already. Yesterday when we took her to the park, there were two little girls her age playing by themselves on the swing and on the slide. Alyssa on the other hand was holding on tight to her Dad. She is an active girl but I just realized she is not as stable as those little girls. When she runs, sometimes it looks like she's going to trip herself. And when she climbs up the stairs, I get so worried when she doesn't hold on the rails. So when I was watching her at the park, I couldn't help but blame myself for her being so reserved. Rright now, she seems very fearful and so I should start letting her do stuff without acting so nervous so she won't get scared.  That should help build up her self-confidence when trying on new activities...

I've been waiting for March 25 for so long now! It's the date that was set for us to go back home to California. I just can't wait to see Daddy anymore. I am so excited! He said he bought welcome balloons for me. Hmmmm... toys? He promised to take me to Toys R Us the next day because he took a day off. In fact he said he will be driving us to Las Vegas!

I heard Mommy said a lot of times that she misses Vegas. Mom doesn't gamble. She just love the long drive, the lively city at night and yes, the nice hotel! Dad on the other hand plays cards but only for a short time. Then we go shopping, eating at buffets, watching some shows and just driving around. I wish I can take gramma and grampa with us, but Mom said they will come soon. That will be very exciting!

For sure though, I will see my grand parents, my cousins, Uncle Resti and Auntie Wendy, and Auntie Cita next year. For now, I am way too happy I will go see Daddy and that's what matters most!!!

I didn't know we're going out today. So when my Mom told me to change my clothes, I thought we're just going to the neighboring university grounds for a walk. Instead, I found myself together with Grampa, Lola Nicing, Uncle Resti, Auntie Wendy Chloe and Eros heading to PMA. Lola was not able to make it with us because she had some stuff to do at home. It was a long 30-minute winding drive. Manong Eros was about to throw up when we arrived at the Academy.

PMA is a very nice place. Just like always, Mommy took some macro pictures of bees on pretty sunflowers planted in front of the administration. It was pretty hot but I didn't even care at all. I am just happy to be there.

On received really nice clothes from my Aunts and Uncles. I still remember my winter coat Ninang Lynne gave me for Christmas. It was from Bloomingdales. Mom never took me there because she said it was way too expensive. I think she can only afford me Macy's every now and then. My regular clothing store is Mervyn's - where she can get me four dresses at the price of one from those expensive stores. Carter's, Bonnie Jeans, Osh Kosh B'Gosh, Baby Gap and Izod are my Mom's most favorite children apparel. She thinks they are pretty cute.

This one, Lola had to make the waist smaller. It is an Adidas set from Macy's that was given on my first birthday by Craig and Felicia, friends of my Dad. It is supposed to be for two year-old tots but it is still kinda big so it took me another six months to try on it again.
